Practiced Leadership Style among Arab School Principals in Haifa District within the Green Line and its Relationship with Enhancing School Organizational Resilience

This study aimed to identify the practiced leadership style among the Arab school principals in Haifa District within the Green Line and its relationship with enhancing school organizational Resilience, the descriptive correlational approach was used. A simple random sample size of (382) teachers participated in this study; a questionnaire was used for collecting the research data. The results showed that the democratic leadership style was chosen by the teachers as the leadership style practiced highly by the Arab school principals in Haifa District, while the autocratic and the passive leadership styles were moderate. Furthermore, there were statistically significant differences in the teachers׳ estimates of the practiced leadership style of their principals over all domains, attributed to the variable of years of experience and in favour of 10 years or more over the domains of the autocratic and the passive style, while for the democratic style results were in favour of less than 10 years. The results didn׳t show a statistical significant difference at (α = 0.05) in the teachers׳ estimates of the practiced leadership style of their principals on the two domains (the democratic style and the autocratic style), attributed to the variable academic qualification, while the result showed that there was a statistical significant difference in the teachers׳ estimates over the domain of the passive style attributed to the variable academic qualification in favour of postgraduates, and the results didn׳t show any significant differences at (α = 0.05) in the teachers׳ estimates over all style domains attributed to the gender or school type.
Results also indicated that the level of Organizational School Resilience in Arab schools in Haifa district from teachers׳ perspective were moderate, and there were statistically significant differences in teachers estimates over the level of organizational resilience in Arab schools in all domains and overall attributed to the years of experience in favour of less than (10) years, and to the school type variable in favour of public schools, over the domains of school administration and the teaching staff as well as over the total degree. Results didn׳t show any statistically significant differences attributed to gender or to academic qualification over all the domains, and over the total degree.
The results also showed that there was a strong correlation between the democratic leadership style practiced among the principals of Arab schools in Haifa District within the green line and all the domains of school organizational resilience.
